Killed in Action,10th November 1918 when (Paddle Minesweeper)H.M.P.M.S. "ASCOT" was torpedoed off the N/W coast of Scotland (Farn Islands)by
German Submarine UB-67 (Capt,Hellmuth Von Doemming) .
Remembered with Honour on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial

201593. Private. F.W.J. GARDNER. 2nd /4th Hampshire Regt. (age 20)
Killed in Action 2nd November 1917.
Buried Alexandria (HADRA) War Cemetery. Egypt.
