Third Battle of KRITHIA. 6th June 1915. 


Fred Eastwood enlisted on 8th September 1910 as Sussex 5/177 and (later became 'Howe Bn D/104) He survived the famous RND Defence of Antwerp 4th-9th October 1914 only to fall in action at Gallipoli at the 3rd Battle of Krithia on 6th June 1915.

Fred Eastwood was born 22nd March 1892 and was a porter prior to joining the service at age 18. He was the son of Alfred Eastwood,of 157 Bexhill Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex. (The house is still standing). His 1914 Star was issued to his father on 9th October 1919.
