ROYAL ENGINEERS BALLOON SCHOOL MEDAL 1901
A very rare and interesting Bronze Medal of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, for THE ROYAL ENGINEERS BALLOON SCHOOL. Struck in 1901 shortly after the death of Queen Victoria and before the Coronation of Edward himself. Strictly an 'Army' item we have listed this under RFC as this R.E. Balloon Unit was the forerunner of the original R.F.C. squadrons.
