A HIGHLY UNUSUAL 1914-15 TRIO (R.F.C./R.A.F.)

Enlisted 4th November, 1910. Formerly 4023 A/Cpl 1 Rifle Brigade,OBTAINED ACTING SCHOOLMASTER's CERTIFICATE in July. 1912 on his transfer to The Royal Flying Corps on 4th July, 1912. 1AM in 1914. Posted overseas 3rd March,1915 when a Sergeant ad earned 1914/15 Star. Promoted Flight Sergeant (Misc Dicip) 1 December, 1915 and retained that rank in 1918 RAF Muster Roll . An unusual service history . Most of the 'early birds' went straight to France in August 1914 with the squadrons and earned a 1914 Mons Star and Bar. This man (an educationalist) being a late entrant to the field gained a 1914/15 Star.
