AN EXCEPTIONAL "COMBAT" CITATION.
"
Flying Officer FULLBROOK is the Captain and Pilot of a Lancaster aircraft and has completed an extremely successful fisrt operational tour of 32 sorties comprising 156 hours opertaional flying.
Throughout his tour this officer has consistently shown the very highest qualities of skill and devotion to duty and by his never failing cheerful manner has been a fine inspiration to the remainder of his crew.
He has taken part in attacks against many heavily defended GERMAN targets including BRUNSWICK, STETTIN, KIEL, FRANKFURT, STUTTGART and ESSEN (Twice).

On one occasion whilst on a sortie to RUSSELSHEIM his aircraft was attacked by two enemy fighters and also coned by searchlights, but by skilful and unsurpassable airmanship successful evasive action was taken and he pressed home his attack with great success.
On the return journey from an attack on SAARBRUCKEN his aircraft was engaged in a combat with a J.U. 88 and so determined was his effort that it was possible to claim that the enemy aircraft was believed destroyed.

This officer's operational record has undoubtedly been on of the finest in the Squadron and for his cool cheerful and courageous spirit and never failing determination to give everything he knew to the full. I have no hesitation in very strongly recommending him for the Distinguished Flying Cross,

A superb "Bomber Command" D.F.C. group with several later items of paperwork including copy of 'Raids Undertaken' and Official Citation Document. Also three Post War M.O.D. letters indicating that Albert Fullbrook was closely associated with the Leonard Cheshire Homes organisation in the late 1960's. Flt/Lt Fulbrook was clearly accompanying invalid and disabled ex-aircrew to the RAF Biggin Hll "At Home" flying days.

Also includes Flt Lt Fullbrook's later QEII Commission scoll relating to his re-commissioning into the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve on 31st March 1965. (in original tube). Flt Lt Fullbrook was also closely connected with the Air Training Corps.
(Almost certainly 173 (Orpington) Squadron ATC
He resigned his post-war commission on 8th May 1968. (LETTER CONFIRMS)
