An early 1st Notts & Derby entrant (4th November 1914) who was seriously wounded (probably at Gouzeaucourt on 4th April) and who died of wounds on 17th April 1917. Buried at Bray Military Cemetery. II.G.40.

The War and Victory medals have probably been worn by a member of Lavery's family for many years after the war and have much contact marking to the obverse and reverse and to the edge. Naming somewhat pock marked but 99% visible.
