Henry Elliott was born at Stonehouse,Devon, on 16th April 1857 and prior to joining the R,N. at age 20 in 1877 was a labourer. He progressed well through the service from ST Cl II to became a chief stoker in 1895. He does not appear to ever have been in trouble and was discharged from active service to pension at "Age Limit" of 50 on 16th June 1897 and finally on 16th April 1907 after a brief 6 year service in the RFR
