INTRODUCTION TO "SPECIAL ITEMS"

When we go out buying medals, coins, banknotes and militaria we see and are offered the most amazing range of other collectables. Therefore in the section of the MEDALS OF ENGLAND web site we aim to list some of the items which we feel have a direct connection to all things military, mechanical, and historical.

INTRODUCTION TO SPECIAL ITEMS

These are the items which in many cases rest in museums and other collections and so  are seldom available for sale. For years I have just loved this type of "stuff" and have accumulated what I think are some really interesting 'bits and bobs' which I would like to share with you here.

Some of these are real "boys toys" type stuff which I know will seriously appeal to those of you who have always had a military or mechanical background or just an historical or  aquisitive nature.

INTRODUCTION TO SPECIAL ITEMS

As an example, some time ago we came across a good selection of very early British Motor Car Sales Catalogues from the late 1920's and early 1930's many of which from Austin ands Morris are in full or partial colour. These are seriously rare and having been "throw away" items, have only survived in tiny numbers. These range in price from about £45 to over £100, and are items which I know many classic car enthusiasts would kill for as some of them own and display concours examples of  the early cars shown in the brochures.

We also have a wide selection of Historic and Wartime newspapers which have carried some of the most famous military headlines of those frantic and  times. We will, over the next few weeks be listing these when time premits, so if you have an interest in this type of area please don't hesitate to contact us right away .   01342-870926.

So , have a good leaf through this section and see what you can find.

( **We have also just purchased a wonderful working scale model of a steam Traction Engine ( made circa 1929-32) which is listed on the bottom "Other Interesting Items" button on the left. )

Good Hunting !
