A “UNIQUE” & VERY RARE, ORIGINALLY UNNAMED DEATH PLAQUE & ORIGINAL UNNAMED 1914-15 STAR TRIO. We Dedicate This Grouping To: The Unknown Soldier & All The Men Who Gave Their Lives on 1st JULY 1916.
A “UNIQUE” & ORIGINALLY UNNAMED DEATH PLAQUE with AN ORIGINAL UNNAMED 1914-15 STAR TRIO.
WE DEDICATE THIS GROUPING TO “THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER, SAILOR or AIRMAN & TO ALL THE SOLDIERS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN ACTION ON 1st JULY 1916.
This is a seriously rare & desirable “blank & originally unnamed”
1914-15 Star Trio & Plaque “anonymous” casualty grouping. These items are NOT skimmed or name erased, they are all Original Unnamed Blanks. Every now and again we encounter an originally unnamed silver war medal, but the incidence of unnamed WW1 Stars or Victory medals is practically nil. We’ve only seen about four unnamed Victory medals in our whole career and we’ve just bought two unnamed 1914-15 Stars, one of which is offered here as part of this unique assembly. This is the very first genuinely unnamed commemorative plaque we’ve ever seen in a militaria career that’s spanned almost half a century.
Probably made as a pre-production inspection check piece or for use in an official display, I don’t know where you would see another example.
We feel this assembly would make a superb display tribute to:
“The Unknown Soldier”
STRICTLY ONE ONLY...and if you ever see another one ...BUY IT.
