In all the years we’ve been dealing in rare medals we’ve never ever come across a genuine & original unnamed I.D.S.M. before. *Please Note* ...This is NOT a skimmed medal ...it’s an astonishing original full weight medal, uncleaned with all its time developed patina and on its original ribbon.
Every one of the other medals you’ll see are named at issue, normally to Indian Army troops.
The George V medal is a fairly common item, but the later GVI award for WW2 is a very scarce & expensive item indeed which when attributable regularly brings £2250-£2500.
The ONLY other example of this clearly rare unnamed medal we’ve been able to locate is in the Imperial War Museum’s collection at Lambeth, London.
