REGt KHEDIVE’s Star (unnamed as issued) [BIOGRAPHY] 1863- Thomas O’Connor was born at St Peter’s, Cork, Ireland in 1863 and joined the army at Clonmel on 30th January 1883 aged 20. He had previously served in the reserves with 3rd Munster Fusiliers. Prior to enlistment he had been a labourer. He served in India for just over a year 1883-84 and in Egypt for 358 days 1884-85 with a further period of almost 5 years service in India 1885-1890. His final period of service was a 4 year home posting 1890-95. He suffered from the normal soldiers’ medical problems of the period with bouts of Ague & Gonorrhoea. An Attractive Pair.
