Awarded to an early Canadian Somme Casualty.
Cpl Archibald Frank Best was killed in action on 16th July 1916 by a German rifle grenade whilst taking part in trench construction on the Somme. He was 32 and the son of Edwin & Grace Best of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
Cpl Best rests in eternal honour at Railway Dugouts Burial Ground.(Transport Farm)
