”SPECIAL NOTE”
Please note that this is the ONLY genuine group to this officer.

We are aware that a group “claiming” to be to this officer appeared at a London auction in 2017. As the UK’s leading flying medal specialists we have established that was a totally bogus group which was both incorrectly engraved & incorrectly named.

That group also incorrectly displayed a France & Germany clasp to which the recipient was not entitled. Neither did it have a single item of confirming original paperwork, no flying log books nor any positive provenance whatsoever.

The group to Leonard Say which we now offer here is 100% entirely genuine and correct in every respect. It also has its correct & genuine Bomber Command clasp, and is further superbly supported and confirmed by the presence of the original Flying Log Book as completed by Sgt- Flt/Lt L.R. Say RAF(VR) during his service in World War II .

We have recently detected THREE blatant examples of faked up and bogus flying groups having passed through two major U.K. London auction houses who quite clearly don’t have the technical ability, knowledge or experience required to detect these bodged, faked and bogus assemblies. Two of these lots then ended up with overseas sales companies, who sold them as genuine when provably they were not. One of those ended up in a major national museum in Australia and after our contact with the curator, the bogus group has now been removed from the museum’s website.

In all of these three cases we know definitively that the groups were fake because WE actually own the genuine medal groups along with their full supporting log books and official issue papers etc. We have reported these matters to the auction houses concerned.
