A Superb & Extremely Rare “FOUR CLASP” INDIAN MUTINY MEDAL, 1857—(DELHI)-(RELIEF OF LUCKNOW)-(LUCKNOW)-(CENTRAL INDIA) To: Syce Driver, Uttree Pershad , 3rd Coy, 1st Bn Bengal Artillery. [DESCRIPTION]
This medal is a truly magnificent example of the legendary “Four Clasp” Indian Mutiny Medal. You’ll hardly ever see another example as there are only a very few known survivors, a couple of dozen at most, of this greatly desirable medal.

The vast majority of the very small total number of Four Clasp medals were awarded to men of this unit, and with many of those examples having been melted down for their silver value in India during the 19th Century, the extant surviving numbers are seriously tiny.

We have only ever handled two other examples in the last 47 years.

This is an “Absolutely Must Have” item and a tantalising opportunity for the serious buyer of fine and rare medals and is fit for inclusion in the very finest medal collection.
