[DISTINGUISHED SERVICE MEDAL]
London Gazette: 2nd July 1917. Page 6520.
This is a very poignant award in that it's recipient was only serving at the very bottom rank of 2nd Deck Hand. This clearly points out the exemplary and ultra dangerous work these men undertook during the great war in seriously severe weather conditions while searching for mines during shocking weather conditions in the turbulent seas around the British Isles. An excellent & original group. With rolls & papers. The medals are all EF+ on original ribbons and have hardly been worn by the clearly humble recipient.
