A FINE ROYAL NAVY 1914-15 TRIO & L.S.G.C. (CASUALTY) with PLAQUE. To: 21414. P.O. E.W. EDWARDS . HMS ACTAEON. (Served in H.M. Patrol Boat 20) Died of Pneumonia 10/10/18. Edward Walter Edwards was born in 1883 at LELVEDON ESSEX, and joined the R.N. in 1901 at age 18. Prior to joining up he had been a farm labourer. He served for a time in the submarine supply service in HMS BONAVENTURE and died while serving in H.M. Motor Patrol Boat 20. He received his LSGC on 24/11/16 after 15 years. Probably deceased from the Spanish Flu epidemic which swept the world in 1918-19. Edward was 34 and a native of Kilburn, London. Husband of Alice Edwards, he is remembered with honour at St, Marie Cemetery, Le Havre. Medals & Plaque are "Mint" with original ribbons.Comes with copy service sheet. An historic grouping.£695
