A very emotive group to a crew member who served in HMS LONDON when the ship attempted to rescue HMS AMETHYST during the Yangtse incident. HMS LONDON The Naval General Service Medal with clasp 'YANGTSE 1949' is perhaps the most sought after medal in the post WW2 naval series. Seldom seen at auction and then heavily contested.
With medals to the crew of HMS AMETHYST now bringing well over £3500 when they come up for sale we feel that this NGS medal and trio to HMS LONDON is a bargain .

Mounted as worn by the proud recipient. Some contact marks on IGS obverse, overall GVF & RARE
