FEARON. LEADING SEAMAN. R.N. [BIOGRAPHY] With the complete loss of the medal rolls and crew lists of the YANGTSE incident personnel and crews, it’s technically not possible to fully confirm which vessel P.O. FEARON served in, but from some careful comparisons of the service numbers of those men who served in H.M.S. LONDON, we feel it’s a fairly safe bet that Mr FEARON served in this ship during its major post WW2 action when it was in action alongside HMS AMETHYST against the communist Chinese forces in the YANGTSE River in 1949 . This exceptional YANGTSE 1949 group is one of those “MUST HAVE” items without which no serious collection of Royal Naval medals is complete. This Rare N.G.S. normally tends to show up as a single, so to find one in a seriously comprehensive WW2 group is particularly unusual and desirable. Also included is Mr Fearon’s original “named impressed” Boatswain’s whistle. All medals are “Mounted As Worn” by the recipient on their original ribbons in classic R.N. close order swing mounted style. A Very Desirable, Rare & Seldom Seen YANGTSE N.G.S. Group with previous & Major WW2 service. £2550 with part exchanges welcome.
