Formerly a Fireman from Aberdeen Scotland, born on 5th April 1888, and a member of a local Canadian militia, he enlisted into the C.E.F. at Calgary Alberta on 26th January 1915. He entered France just a few weeks later with 10th CAN INF on 15th February 1915.
