HMS GOOD HOPE, Killed-in -Action on Sunday 1st November 1914 when HMS Good Hope was sunk by the SCHARNHORST. This was the first ship lost in action by the Royal Navy since Trafalgar in 1805. (:NOTE: John Smith would almost certainly have known Fred Slatter the recipient of the previous group shown above! )
