(Barnoldswick) For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in leading his section forward during a daylight raid.He inflicted many casualties on the retreating enemy,and though wounded rendered great assistance destroying dug-outs,and afterwards withdrew all his men safely.(SOLD)
