Fred Smith (then 25) was married in Oxford on 29th June 1912 to Lilly Edith Harrup (23) . The Licence is stamped "15th August 1917" by the Infantry Record Office at "Island Bridge, DUBLIN" This document was clearly inspected to assess the widow's entitlement to pension after her husbands death in action with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers on 18th July 1917.

FRED SMITH IS COMMEMORATED WITH ETERNAL HONOUR AT "BARD COTTAGE CEMETERY" LEPER, WEST VLAANDEREN BELGIUM.
