To: 34 Pte W. CARROLL. 3rd Battalion ROYAL DUBLIN FUSILIERS. A medal to a prime Irish unit which took part in some seriously difficult fighting throughout the Boer War. The medal is totally original and in almost mint state condition with superb natural glossy black patina having never been cleaned. With Private William Carroll was born Kildare, Ireland in 1866 and attested for 3rd Bn Royal Dublin Fusiliers on 9th April 1883. He had been a labourer with a company called 'Copelands' . Full Service Papers & medal roll stating discharge at the end of his period of engagement on 12th May 1902. A Lovely Medal to a much collected Irish unit. SOLD
