A VERY INTERESTING & ORIGINAL BRONZE BUST PLAQUE OF
OLIVER CROMWELL
as
'THE LORD PROTECTOR'
of
The Commonwealth of England
1649-1658
Weighing about 4 ounces and measuring about 4.5 inches by 4 inches this remarkable item was cast in solid bronze in circa 1650.
A Parliamentarian plaque of superb accuracy (warts and all) and of a wonderful contemporary style, this would fit well into any collection of Civil War medallions, Royalist medals and badges or other artifacts. We think that this item was originally affixed to the cover of a large Bible or similar official book.
