A SCARCE (Re-Named) "EDWARD VII"
DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL
Privately Engraved to a Bogus Recipient.
2127. SERGt W. HAMILTON. SEAFORTH HIGHrs
Sgt Hamilton was a real Boer War soldier who's entitled to
a QSA / KSA pair, but NOT the D.C.M. Clearly he thought he was due for a gallantry medal in relation to his service in the Boer War and decided to award one to himself !!!
We seldom list re-named medals but this is such a scarce medal to locate as a 'spare' we thought someone might like it as a 'type' display medal, or as a temporary filler for a lost medal.
How many Edward VII D.C.M's do you see???
Most in groups are £2500 and up !
A Good Display Item or Space Filler in EF with original ribbon.
The false naming could be removed and used as a blank.
SOLD with part-exchanges welcome.
