Originally recorded as 1237 on service papers (which are crossed out and re-numbered 2728) so both medals are actually totally correct.
Bexley tried to re-enlist in 1914 for WW1 but was discharged as medically unfit after 30 days. Not to be undone, he enlisted in the Labour Corps in 1919 and served a total of 17 years.
(NOTE: BEXLEY was present when Sgt Albert E. Curtis won his Victoria Cross on 23rd February 1900 and his pair display the identical clasps to those of Curtis.
