Private James Henry Bradshaw was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire in 1886 and was the son of Mrs Mary Emma Bradshaw,of 103 Peel Street, Tranmere, Birkenhead and the late James Bradshaw. He enlisted in Liverpool and landed at Le Havre on 13th August 1914 and took part in the retreat from Mons and the Battle of The Aisne.
