WW1 Pair, 39 Star, Africa (8th Army) Def, War, LSGC (Reg Army) Alamein, Died at Sea. U-575 Sinking.

A most unusual group to a long service soldier in both wars. WW1 Pair,(Royal West Kents) 39-45 Star, Africa (8th Army) Def, War, LSGC 'Royal Tank Corps ' (GVI) (Reg Army). Served at 1st Battle of El Alamein with ROYAL TANK CORPS. Drowned at Sea on MV ABOSSO . To: 241374. Pte F.V. Peters. Royal West Kent Regt ( on pair). Later 156228 Machine Gun Corps. WW2 Service in Royal Armoured Corps at 1st El Alamein. Wounded and shipped out of Cape Town on MV ABOSSO II. The ship was torpedoed and sunk on 29th October 1942 by U-575. Peters was Lost at Sea.
