Due to the current World War One Commemorations which started in 2014, we are now experiencing constant requests for facsimile documentation for inclusion in displays of family and other medals.
During World War One this country lost almost One Million men, with many millions more seriously wounded.
Many of their medals have thankfully survived, yet only a tiny percentage of their original Commemorative Scrolls, papers and documents are still extant and with the medals.
To meet this demand and shortfall, and to further promote the major interest in the commemoration of and research into family members and the men who fought in The Great War, we have commissioned and are now able to offer a superb and accurate series of very high quality facsimile WWI documents which are very much fit for the purpose of honouring these brave men.
The papers we have commissioned are in each case produced on materials that are as close as possible to the originals used during the WWI period, and as such will greatly enhance any medal assembly or historical display of awards where the originals have been lost.
Clearly, nothing can ever replace the original documents issued at the time, which are in each case unique to every man, but we feel most strongly that the deeds done and sacrifices made by our soldiers in The Great War, need now, more then ever,to be permanently commemorated in the homes and collections of those who have interest in immortalising the memory of these brave men.
Indeed, the very last line on the Casualty Memorial Scroll insists of us:
"LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT THAT HIS NAME BE NOT FORGOTTEN"
We intend to assist that aim.
The facsimile documents, such as 'The King's Honourable Discharge Certificate' and the 'Casualty Memorial Scroll', were originally issued 'named' to an individual soldier. Our facsimiles are produced 'blank', but we can, upon request, have them correctly and accurately 'hand named' by our calligrapher in the original coloured copperplate naming style at small extra cost.
