There are representatives here of some of the most important regiments in this famous battle.
1) L/12865 Pte WILLIAM STANLEY PEASNELL.
2/MIDDLESEX REGt William joined the army as a full time regular on 10th January 1910 and entered France on 7th November 1914
He is entitled to a 1914 Star & Bar Trio.On 1st July 1916 2/Middlesex took part in the attack at Mash Valley near Ovillers / La Boisselle suffering more than 650 casualties that day.
