[BIOGRAPHY]
William Connor was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1852 and previously worked as a labourer. He had initially enlisted in the 1st West Yorks Militia. He was 5ft 6" tall, freckled with grey eyes and dark brown hair. He was a Roman Catholic. He had previously served in India and is entitled to an India General Service Medal (Jowaki). Despite being a good catholic boy he had contracted primary syphilis and just about every associated disease imaginable and had spent considerable time in hospital along with bouts of dysentery, remittent fevers, ague & febricula. He was however described as "temporate" so at least the demon drink wasn't one of his other vices.
The medal is in exceptional EF+ condition and displays it's original & natural patina. It comes complete with medal roll copy & full attestation papers in colour.
