[BIOGRAPHY]

Thomas Wright was born in the parish of St Mary’s in NOTTINGHAM in 1836 and was a labourer prior to his enlistment into the 68th Foot (DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY) aged 22 on 28th January 1858.He served with the colours for 10 years 225 days until 8th September 1868 when he was discharged as no longer fit for military service due to severe lung problems & chronic bronchitis. Upon discharge he was described as being 32 years & 6 months of age, 5ft 4.5”tall, with grey eyes, fair hair & a fresh complexion and no scars. He had been court marshalled once and had appeared twice in the regimental defaulters book. He basic conduct is described as Good & he is described as having one good conduct stripe.

A Lovely & Totally Original Medal in EF+ on its original ribbon with copy roll & discharge papers.

Uncleaned with all its original time developed coloured lustre.
