IGS (Burma 1885-7)-(Samana 1891) IGS  (Waziristan 1901-2)”MID”  1914-15 Star Trio.  Lieut- Lt Colonel W.C.M. WOODCOCK, 2nd LIVERPOOL REGt & 29th Punjab Infantry. [BIOGRAPHY] 1865-1937
William Charles Marmaduke Woodcock was born in 1865 and was commissioned as a Lt in the 4th Bn Devon Regt In January 1883 with a transfer to King’s Liverpool Regt In May 1885. He served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-7 including the operation of 6th Brigade under Brigadier General Low. He accompanied the Miranzai 1st & 2nd Expeditions 1891 and served on N.W. Frontier of India, Waziristan, 1901-2 as a Captain in 29th Punjab Regt where he was mentioned in despatches (8th August 1902). He was wounded in WW1 & is entitled to a Silver War Badge.

A really excellent group which comes with an extensive & thick file of many research papers.

All medals are swing mounted as worn in EF+ condition on original ribbons and were clearly seldom worn.
