[BIOGRAPHY] 1865-1937
William Charles Marmaduke Woodcock was born in 1865 and was commissioned as a Lt in the 4th Bn Devon Regt In January 1883 with a transfer to King’s Liverpool Regt In May 1885. He served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-7 including the operation of 6th Brigade under Brigadier General Low. He accompanied the Miranzai 1st & 2nd Expeditions 1891 and served on N.W. Frontier of India, Waziristan, 1901-2 as a Captain in 29th Punjab Regt where he was mentioned in despatches (8th August 1902).
He was wounded in WW1 & is entitled to a Silver War Badge.
He died in 1937 aged 71.
A really excellent group which comes with an extensive & thick file of many research papers.
All medals are swing mounted as worn in EF+ condition on original ribbons and were clearly seldom worn.
