CRIMEA MEDAL 1854
To:
W. NORTH. 62nd (Wiltshire) Foot Regt .WILLIAM NORTH DIED OF DISEASE IN 1855.
OFFICIALLY IMPRESSED.
W. NORTH. 62nd REGt.“A medal of superb and fresh quality. Being to a casualty the medal was clearly never worn by the recipient. This is an outstanding example, in practically ‘as struck’ condition with flashy cameo & prooflike surfaces on both obverse & reverse.
Many of the men who fought in the Crimean war were made very ill by the poor conditions and many died of enteric fever and dysentery, and many of the normally predicable & terminal water born diseases.
A Superb Type Medal to a casualty.
For Inclusion in a Fine Crimea or High Grade Type Collection.
