[HISTORY]Herbert William Moore was born in May 1874 in Whitwood, Normanton, Yorkshire. Prior to his enlistment on the 25th April 1894 in Leeds he had been a young coal miner. He was discharged in London on 24th April 1906 on completion of exactly 12 years of service with the colours. Complete with his two original velum discharge & character documents and a full set of colour copy Attestation Papers with medal rolls confirming all clasps.Also an original local newspaper cutting detailing the "Hero's Return' of July 26th 1902 . This is a seriously pleasing pair to one of THE most sought after units in the British army who served in some of the most challenging & important action of the Boer War.
