[BIOGRAPHY]
James Norris was born in Northampton in 1865 and prior to joining the army had worked as a quarryman. Aged almost 21 he attested at Sheffield on 27th January 1885. Served in India from 30th January 1886. Served in the boer war with 5th field battery RFA from 27th January 1900. Posted home 12th January 1902. Discharged 30th January 1902.
