W. CROWTHER. 55th REGT.
TURKISH MEDAL: (French Issue) “RARE”
Unnamed as Issued. The Crimea medal is in choice EF condition having clearly had minimal wear by this dangerously wounded soldier.
The medal clearly hasn’t been cleaned in many years and has a really nice steel grey tone. Paired with a very rare and seldom seen example of the French Issue Turkish Medal (La Crimee )
An attractive pair with copy clasp roll and London Gazette for 11th December 1854 upon which William Crowther’s name appears as “Dangerously Wounded”. Scarce to the Westmorland Regt.
