AN INTERESTING MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL.
War Medal & Victory Medal with Mention in Despatches.
To:
S4-199237 Pte C.W. BURLEY. Royal Army Service Corps. M.I.D. General HAIG (London Gazette, 25th May 1918)
M.S.M. (London Gazette, 3rd June 1919, France & Flanders)
This is an unusual award as it's to a Private soldier who clearly has an associated MID by no less than the Commander in Chief himself. It would be interesting to know exactly what type of exemplary service Burley provided in the A.S.C. during the Great War to get an MSM as an ordinary Private.
Medals are VF+ uncleaned and are mounted as worm on the original ribbons. Slight staining to obverse & reverse of Victory medal.
