James Terris was born in 1894 and hailed from Fifeshire, Scotland.
He enlisted into the army on 10th August 1911. He was one of the very earliest entrants into France on 10th August 1914 which was just six days after the declaration of war. He won his Military Medal for his bravery in the action at High Wood on the Somme.
He was later badly wounded by a gunshot wound to the chest in late 1917. This caused him serious internal complications and he was discharged on 22nd October 1917. He is entitled to a silver war badge No. 260,721.
His address upon discharge was “The Gardens” Kelty Fife.
The group comes complete with Copy MIC and other papers.
Also included is the pair and MIC to his brother,
Pte. 345932 William W. Terris, Royal Highlanders. Medals About EF, with original clasp. Swing mounted as worn by the recipient and are still on their original ribbons.
