Not only are these fine medals all to men of one family, but they also represent the three major medal types & combinations of casualty groups that are encountered.

A 1914 Star & Bar Trio, with Plaque
A 1914-1915 Trio, with Silver War Badge, B331565.
A War Medal & Victory pair, with Plaque.

Two groups have their relevant Commemorative Plaques and the other a Silver War Badge. All were awarded to men who served in front line infantry regiments. Their ultimate sacrifices and a serious wounding which later proved fatal, commemorate their selfless service at three of the best known and critical battles of The Great War.

Bearing in mind these three factors, it would be difficult, nay impossible, to locate another assembly quite as desirable as this.

Document wise, it has everything you can imagine and it encompasses not only the service records of the three men whose medals we have, but of five other men of the family, two more of whom also served in The Great War.

These lads were the Five Sons of Thomas & Emily Dudman of Nunton, Salisbury, Wiltshire who all served in WW1.

All in all, this is a totally unique assembly which has been lovingly prepared and presented for us by our Chief Army Researcher. As a mark of respect for the two lost men we have also prepared two of our individually hand lettered commemorative scrolls which are practically identical to the originals.

Serious Wound, Gallipoli, (1st Wilts) Two Wiltshire collar dogs and a Wiltshire Regt cap badge are also included along with a Royal Dublin Fusiliers cap badge.

All the medals and the plaques are practically mint and “as issued” with their original ribbons. The Silver War Badge is the recipient’s numbered original.
