To: 5283. Pte.A.GOULD. 2nd ROYAL WEST KENT REGt. Pte Gould who was from Islington joined the army on 5th September 1898 aged 18. He was court marshalled for "Drunkeness on Duty" on 21/12/02 ( it was clearly Christmas ) ...sentenced to 10 days prison with hard labour and reduced to the ranks (From Cpl). He was again mobilised on 5th August 1914 and was badly wounded (shot in the buttocks) on 17th May 1915. He was discharged 4th Sept 1915 as no longer fit for service. Entitled to a Silver War Badge. Comes with copy MIC & copy attestation & service papers & medal rolls. An interesting soldier with service in two wars. EF & Mounted as worn on original ribbons by the recipient. £695
