( Died of Wounds at Home 28th May 1915 )Private Walker joined the Irish Guards in November 1914 as part of a Kitchener's New Army and entered France on 2nd April 1915. He was seriously wounded in action during April 1915 during what is thought to be a brave attempt to rescue two of his fellow guardsmen. He was evacuated back to the UK but died of his wounds on 28th May 1915.He is buried at St Michael's Churchyard, Rugeley, Staffs.He was 21. His gravestone is inscribed. "HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS" A VERY EMOTIVE CASUALTY TO THE MUCH SOUGHT AFTER IRISH GUARDS.£795
