A VERY RARE & CURRENTLY TOPICAL GALLIPOLI CASUALTY "1st Day Battle of Gully Ravine" 28th June 1915. A Classic 1914 Star & Bar "Old Contemptible" Casualty Trio. To: L/7547 Pte Alfred Quin. 1st & 2nd Royal Fusiliers. KILLED-IN-ACTION. GULLY RAVINE. GALLIPOLI 28th June 1915.Alfred Quin was clearly a pre-war regular soldier who originally mustered with 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers and arrived in France on 9th September 1914. At some time after this he transferred to 2nd Bn Royal Fusiliers and was Killed in Action with this unit on the First Day of the Battle of Gully Ravine, at Gallipoli on 28th June 1915.The vast majority of the medals encountered for this campaign are to 'K1' & new army men with 1915 Star trios. It's fairly unusual to see an original 1914 Star & Bar pre-war regular and BEF man represented here. Alfred Quin's body was never recovered. He has no known grave and is commemorated with eternal honour on the HELLES MEMORIAL. His medals are "Mint" with original ribbons.£695
