[BIOGRAPHY]
WILLIAM GEORGE HOWARD was born Newton St Faith, Norfolk and enlisted in Norwich. 1/1st Norfolk Yeomanry dismounted in September 1915 and sailed in S.S. OLYMPIC from LIVERPOOL on 25th September 1915 bound for GALLIPOLI. Landed at ANZAC COVE 8th October 1915. Howard was wounded on Gallipoli & repatriated to UK then posted to 7th Bn Norfolks in France. He was fatally wounded during the Arras battles and died of wounds at 12. C.C.S.on 6th August 1917. George was the husband of Emily Sando (formerly Howard) of 15, Pipe Burners Row, Bull Close, Norwich.
