DIED OF WOUNDS 27th November 1917. Age 20
(Buried at MANANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY, III.E.5.)
& Elder Brother
235082 Pte EDWARD CHARLES DAVIS, A Coy, 2/4th EAST LANCS REGt.
OFFICIALLY MISSING 21st MARCH 1918. Age 22.
EDWARD DIED OF HIS WOUNDS AS A PRISONER OF WARIN GERMANY on 24th MAY 1918. A German P.O.W. death record sheet is includedDog Tag Retrieved but Body Lost & No Known Grave.

The plaques come with two individual private Christmas cards from each brother to the family sent in 1914 & 1916.
Also a green (“impervious to water”) dog tag to Edward C Davis.
Both men were the sons of John & Rose Davis of 28, Industrial Street, Horbury Junction, WAKEFIELD, Yorkshire.
