"A CLASSIC OLD CONTEMPTIBLE TRIO"
1761.Private John P Dwyer enlisted in the Army in 1907 and at the outbreak of WW1 was sent to The Western Front being with one of the first units to arrive in France at Rouen on 18th August 1914. He took part in the fighting in the Retreat From Mons, and on The Marne and the Aisne and at Neuve Chappelle, Ypres, Armenteires, Ploegsteert Wood, the Somme and Cambrai. He was wounded in March 1918, and invalided home. He was afterwards transfered to the 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys), and drafted to Egypt, where he was still serving in 1920.
He holds the Mons Star & the General Service & Victory Medals.
