John Findley as born at Tyne Dock, Durham and enlisted at Blaydon aged just 17. The son of John Hutchinson Findley and Mary Findley of Stella House
Dunston-on-Tyne, Durham. He was Killed In Action aged 19 and is remembered on the Soissons Memorial and has no known grave. From the end of May, when John was killed, until August  1918 the town of Soissons fell back into German hands.
