Bert Williams was a Canadian Citizen born May 21st 1890 in Montreal.
On joining the Army on 15th September 1914, aged 24 years 11 months, he is shown as a machinist, and as having already served for 6 years in the United States Cavalry
His father, who was next of kin in 1914 is shown on the CWG site as the "Late" Henry Williams of Bingham , Canton, Utah, USA. Bert had a wife (Ethel Williams), of 5 Park Crescent, Clapham London, England.

Bert Williams Died of Wounds in Canada on 9th October 1917, his very serious  injuries are thought to have been received with 1/Canadian Infantry during the massive assault on VIMY RIDGE on 9th APRIL 1917. (Further research continues)
Bert is buried and Remembered with Honour at Montreal (Mount Royal) Cemetery.
