Frederick William Hendric was an early pre-war volunteer (1907).
With lots of copy papers including full service record including early 1914 regimental war diary which records the dates of issue for the Royal Christmas gifts of Xmas card (25th Dec) and the Princess Mary's brass cigarette box (26th Dec).
Service record shows he was in a bit of minor disciplinary trouble before the war by being ' out of bounds in a bazaar , improper behaviour on parade and missing a CO' s early morning inspection .
