Killed in Action at ARRAS at the 1st Battle of Bullecourt, during the famous action at MONCHY-LE-PREUX where the 10th HUSSARS & ESSEX YEOMANRY sustained many hundreds of casualties from German Machine Gun Fire on the main street.

Then captured and made POW in the Mons Retreat. AN AMAZING STORY OF SURVIVAL....all To:928. Sgt. Thomas Palmer, 1/Rifle Brigade. Superbly complete with Wounded Badge (No. 239734), Dog Tag 928. T PALMER C.E. RB (on original wearing cord, Hat Badge etc. Also lots of original personal papers and items from Palmers pre-war Met Police service. Velum Transfer Document. Original "Large" Honourable Discharge Charter......and a very interesting,complete and historically important and very moving newspaper article all about Palmer's wounding in the Mons Retreat and his subsequent capture by the Germans and his eventual repatriation. THIS IS A TRUE CLASSIC.
